It's a perfectly ordinary, prosperous South Shore neighborhood with the usual accouterments: Manicured lawns and hedges, well-maintained split-levels, late-model rides in the driveways.

All in all, more ho-hum than hocus-pocus, you might say.

Except for the house with the witchy weather vane and cauldron out front. And the massive stained-glass pentacle. And the two residents who say their devotion to Wicca -- a religion rooted in ancient witchcraft – has made them the victims of neighborhood ridicule and harassment.

Ivy Colmer Vanderborgh, her husband and her mother live in one half of a duplex on Oceanview Avenue.

Their Annadale neighbors say they are disrupting the neighborhood.

But the Colmer Vanderborgh family claims those same neighbors are persecuting them because of their religion.

Ms. Colmer Vanderborgh and her mother, Marlene Colmer, both practice Wicca.  They contend that since their appearance on a Staten Island Community Television show about their religion in June 2006, neighbors have they have been verbally harassed, their car has been vandalized, their property damaged and their dog poisoned.

 "This is a witch hunt," said Marlene Colmer.
"This is like what you see on TV, and it's scary," said Ivy Colmer Vanderborgh. "I am afraid."

The laws and the public's thinking must change about psychic and magickal people.  We harm none and are caring people who try to help our fellow man through our GOD GIVEN abilities.

Lady Althea was an interesting person at the Magickal Childe in the 70's.   She was the youngest High Priestess in the city of New York.  her coven, which was a teen coven, was one of five that called this very strange and unusual place "home."  A trip to this Bookstore left you with a powerful feeling.  It had dusty covered books and items extraordinaire, the likes you will never see again.  There were secret doors and creaky floors.  At the back of this strange and magickal place was an apothecary.  They custom mixed powerful oils that were worth their weight in gold.  I still have a few and treasure them. Many a great witch has come out of this store.  Authors Lady Reha, Anna Riva, and Phyllis Currott are a few of them.

 The Art of Manifestation .  What is it?   The keyword here is “Art”.  Art is a creative process, a blending of energies and ideas coming together to Manifest in a physical form.   The first step in manifestation is an idea.   So all manifestation begins in the Realm of Mentality or thought.
We first create the thoughtform after the idea which is a variation on the original concept.  Now the “thought” has a “body”. 
Next are the mechanics of beginning to bring it into “Man-if-estation” To bring it to the World of Material form.  This involves a way of grounding it to a  courser body, to bring it to Earth, Malkuth the Material Plane.   This can be done in many ways.  Depending on your belief system, these ideas and desires can be manifested by different methods.  None of them is right or wrong, simpy personal preference according to your leanings.   One way of manifesting is through Magick.  Creating a Sacred space to focus and dedicate to your cause.  This can be as simple as just dedicating a space, casting a magickal circle , or a corner of the room dedicated to your cause.    There are several different methods you can use from raising a cone of power to poppet magick and runes.  All of these are valid and create a focus to bring your desired outcome to the physical plane.   Methods of Manifestation takes many forms.  If Christian or similar, prayer can be a form of manifestation if done correctly and with true intent.  Many Christians do not know how to pray correctly, merely whining and placating their God.  True prayer has focus and intensity like a meditation or Mantra with focused intent, bringing one to a meditative state.   Another form of Manifestation is the Alchemist’s laboratory.   Where the Act of involving oneself in the physical task combined with intent manifests what the Alchemist’s goal is, whether it is a healing stone or elixir for health or Spiritual development.  It all still begins in the Realm of Ideas and progresses through a series of incarnations into physical reality.   One thing Alchemist’s and I believe Spiritualists share is the knowledge and belief in the subtle form of Matter that everything must manifest through before becoming really solid.  To the Alchemist this is the Prima Materia.  To the Spiritualist this is Ectoplasm.   In either case, a certain mastery of this subtle matter is necessary to truly manifest.  Both require entering an open and positive state of Mind to tap into it and a certain skill to direct it.   Positive thinking and attitude is important in order to Manifest.  Whatever it is, whether a new job, a new relationship, a healing.  Whatever it is you want to do you first have to adjust your mind to be positive and really believe in it happening.  This at first may just be lip service , but if you keep a positive mantra in your mind and thoughts, utilizing whatever belief system you adhere to this will facilitate the construct.   In hypnotherapy, of which I am a practitioner, change is brought about on the theta level not by wishing it will happen but by positive suggestions in the present tense.  “I AM, confident,  I AM a non-smoker etc. 
As in the mental realm there is no past present and future time.  The time is “NOW” and the point of Power is “NOW.    Thinking in the present tense will always help things manifest quickly. 
So staying positive and stating things only in the present tense as if it is already happening is the best way to manifest as well as using the tools given to you by your established belief system.   by Karen Bartlett (Lady Althea) www.RealAlchemy.org
